There is a tree growing in Brooklyn to commemorate my birthplace, but I’ve been a Bay Area resident since high school in Piedmont. I went to U.C. Berkeley School of Public Health and received a bachelors degree in biostatistics. Then I went on to U.C.S.F. for my medical degree. I spent two years at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, then returned to San Francisco to complete my pediatric training. I was a research physician on a study of the association of events occurring during pregnancy with outcomes in children, but after two years of that I decided that I enjoyed clinical pediatrics more than research. So ever since then I have practiced primary care pediatrics in west Contra Costa county. I am Board Certified in pediatrics.

I live in Lafayette (where my wife was born), with three dogs, three cats, and two birds. I have three daughters, all of whom live in the East Bay. My wife is a registered nurse and a lactation consultant, and as a result I have developed an increasing interest in breast feeding in recent years. I try to incorporate this into my practice on a regular basis.

Downhill skiing and Cal football are consuming interests – GO BEARS!
